Are you interested in becoming a member? We would love to welcome you on board! The women of WJSL volunteer their time from September to June. Whether you volunteer your time at the Sims Library or organizing one of our annual fundraisers, you will always be making a difference.
If you are interested in helping your community and would like to meet women of all ages and backgrounds, you will be welcomed into the Waxahachie Junior Service League. We ask that you commit to a six year term which will include a once a month obligation to attend general meetings. A minimum seventy hour per year commitment is requested of each member, however, new members are always surprised at how easy it is to attain those hours. As a member, you will have a variety of opportunities to become involved such as supporting fundraising efforts and volunteering with local non profit organizations. After your six year provisional and active membership is complete, you join hundreds of women throughout the Ellis County area as one of our amazing sustaining members. Our sustaining members remain extremely active with WJSL which is a credit to the organization.
Applications for 2017-2018 membership has closed. WJSL membership applications are accepted once a year in February/March for the following year. Check back for more information!

The women of WJSL are diverse and engaged women who bring unique talents to the organization.

Meet Lauren, a fourth year member and special education teacher, who shares how she makes WJSL fit into her busy schedule:

"My 4 years with WJSL has exceeded my expectations. Being a special ed teacher, I was hesitant about the time commitment; however, each year my placement has been extremely flexible with scheduling my hours. WJSL is a great place to gain new experiences and create connections and friendships with others while giving back to the community."
