The goal of Hidden Miracles is to provide fellowship, resources and a family network to families with special needs children. Hidden Miracles is part of The Cowboy Church of Ellis County. They operate on donations and caring volunteers from the community. Respite Nights and Children’s Church are offered to families of special needs children.
Hope Clinic exists to show the light of God’s love to the medically underserved in and around Ellis County by ministering to their physical, spiritual and emotional needs in a comprehensive outpatient healthcare center.
Texas Baptist Home
This ministry exists to protect the sanctity of human life and to promote the preservation of the family. This purpose manifests itself in preventative, rehabilitative, and specialized services to children, youth, adults and families. The aim of these programs is to enable this ministry, local churches, and the community to meet more effectively the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs of individuals and families. The Texas Baptist Home provides these services as a benevolent, educational, and evangelistic outreach of the churches of the Baptist Missionary Association of Texas.
Common Ground Ministries
Common Ground Ministries is a Christian outreach to children and youth in east Waxahachie, TX. Our mission is to provide a safe and structured environment for children and youth to meet their spiritual, educational and physical needs. Children arrive after school, have a nutritious snack, have a supervised homework period, receive instruction and tutoring and have a recreational period.
The Mission of the Education Foundation for Waxahachie ISD is to enhance the quality of educational opportunities in the Waxahachie Independent School District. Formed in 1999, the Education Foundation for Waxahachie ISD is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that exists with one reason in mind - to support and enhance quality education in Waxahachie schools by funding innovative educational programs that lead to increased student achievement. The Foundation is guided by a group of twenty-one local board members who volunteer their time.
Operation First Day of School, WISD
Operation First Day of School provides economically disadvantaged children with school supplies, backpacks, clothing vouchers and more. WISD partners with businesses, organizations, churches, and individuals to help acquire the needed supplies and volunteers to help run the event.
All Schools in Ellis County
Waxahachie Junior Service League donates to every school district in Ellis County. Those donations are used at the discretion of school counselors to provide needed school supplies to children in need.
Since 1982 Waxahachie CARE Food Pantry has served Waxahachie and the South Ellis County area. The food pantry is a choice food pantry where families can pick out their own type of food. They also provide counseling and financial assistance. Waxahachie CARE currently serves 400 families every month. They also are a very strong referral agency in finding help for other services.
Ellis County Youth Expo
Ellis County Youth Expo promotes the educational programs of boys and girls engaged in 4H and FFA and helps shape Ellis County youth by encouraging the love of raising animals.
Boys and Girls Clubs
Boys and Girls Clubs of America enables all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens. They provide a safe place to learn and grow, ongoing relationships with caring, adult professionals, life-enhancing programs and character development experiences.
Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. This gives them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a charing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
CASA of Ellis County fosters Guardian Ad Litem volunteers to protect the best interests of abused and neglected children and to advocate in the court system for family reunification or placement in an environment that is safe, nurturing and permanent. CASA recruits, trains and supervises volunteers who are selected to act as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) to be the voice for the child in the court. CASA of Ellis County is part of a nationwide organization of CASA with 955 programs and 75,000 volunteers nationwide.
Ellis County Rainbow Room ensures that Child Protective Services can provide children with the basics they need on short notice. Rainbow Room was an initiative started by Barbara Bush when she was First Lady of Texas. It has been serving the needs of Ellis County for over 18 years.
FirstLook Boutiques are unique nonprofit thrift shops, with locations in both Waxahachie and Ennis, that donate 100% of their proceeds to support the mission and vision of FirstLook Pregnancy Clinic. FirstLook Pregnancy Clinic is a nonprofit Christian organization dedicated to saving lives and protecting futures by providing STD screenings, pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, counseling, parenting classes, resources, and support to women in crisis during their pregnancy and after their baby is born.
Waxahachie Fire Rescue
Waxahachie Fire Rescue provides preschools and schools with materials to help children learn about fire safety.
Manna House Thrift Store
Manna House is a community outreach organization created in 1991 as a result of a student led Problem Solvers project from Midlothian ISD to serve the needs of Midlothian residents. From the beginning, local churches backed the idea and the current Manna House was born. Manna House has both a food pantry and a thrift store funded by area churches, individual donations, local businesses, schools, organizations, United Way of West Ellis County, TXU Energy Aid program and various grants.
Campfire Creek was established in 2005 by Emily Oliver to provide a therapeutic horseback riding center in Ellis County. Their mission is to offer hope to their families and participants while improving the quality of life for children and adults with physical, mental, emotional, behavioral, social and spiritual needs by providing activities through interaction with the equine family and the agricultural environment.
Helping Hands in Ennis
Helping Hands of Ennis provides food, clothing and financial assistance to families in crisis. Since 2008 they have been able to provide one week’s worth of food for over 30,000 people.
Paws for Reflection
Paws for Reflection provides a healing, educational, motivational and recreational environment utilizing equine and other animal assisted therapies and experiences to enhance the quality of life for all clients and to provide a loving home, whether temporary or permanent, for animal that meet a specific criteria.
North Ellis Co Outreach
North Ellis County Outreach is a Christ-centered community supported ministry that is changing lives, instilling hope and providing encouragement as a means of promoting self-sufficiency. They provide a food pantry, utility and rental assistance and opportunities to register for special programs. They have a thrift store “Pennies from Heaven” located in Red Oak.
Waxahachie Senior Center
Waxahachie Senior Center is a wonderful facility where senior adults enjoy a wide variety of engaging activities in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Activities include exercise room and classes, billiards, computer room, library, cards and games, quilting, knitting, crafts and much more. Since opening their new facility in May 2009, the center has grown to more than 1,400 members.
Ellis Co Sheriff’s Office
This program supports the National Drug and Safety League and National Child Safety Council non-profit organizations to provide safety awareness materials for our community.
SWAGG assists foster and homeless children in creating a standard of excellence that promotes Serenity, Wisdom, Agility, Grace and Guidance developed through comprehensive programs. SWAGG provides these children with belongings of their won and opportunity to feel empowered by making their own clothing choices and providing them with a personal SWAGG Bag for their items. SWAGG’s comprehensive programs help them discover and develop their own identity.

A donation is made toward their annual Veteran’s Day Ceremony and Recognition.
FUMC Backpack Program
FUMC partners with North Texas Food Bank to provide healthy snacks for children to bring home for the weekend who might otherwise not have access to healthy food. Some schools prefer to have us pack and deliver the snacks weekly while others prefer stocking their shelves with snack foods to give to their students as needed.
The Ellis County Children’s Advocacy Center dba “The Gingerbread House” provides a child-friendly environment for the child victims and their non-offending family members and coordinates the intervention process reducing further trauma to the child. The center’s goal is to optimize the investigative and prosecution process; provide quality legal, psychological, social and medical services to abused children and to heighten community awareness.
Go Van Gogh
Go Van Gogh brings the Dallas Museum of Art to Kindergarten through 6th grade students in schools throughout North Texas free of charge. Trained volunteers go to schools and lead experiences that encourage students to look closely at works of art, ask and answer questions, and make personal connections. All programs include hands-on activities that provide opportunities for individual creative expression. Students also receive information about the DMA's educational programming for the families.
Miracle League of Ellis County
Every child and adult deserve an accessible, nurturing and noncompetitive environment where they and their families can come together to cultivate new friendships and experience the joy of play. Work is under way to bring an all inclusive park to serve the Ellis County area.
Our Children’s House
Our Children’s House offers an array of coordinated, comprehensive services for children with special health care needs. The program brings together a licensed pediatric hospital together with nine outpatient clinics. Our Children’s House clinics can help coordinate care, and offer developmental screenings and assessments, parent education and support, and physical, occupational and speech/language therapy. Families can also access outpatient feeding therapy, developmental therapy, rehabilitation, and the special needs day care. In addition, there are physician based physical medicine and rehabilitation, pulmonary and headache clinics.
